چکیده
The deposition of thin films bioactive materials is the most common approach to improve bone bonding ability an implant surface. With this purpose, several wet and plasma assisted methods were proposed in scientific literature. In review, we considered obtained by nanosecond Pulsed Laser Deposition (PLD). Since hydroxyapatite (HA) has composition structure similar that mineral component bone, initial studies focused on selection experimental conditions would allow retain HA stoichiometry crystallinity. However, biological apatite was found be a poorly crystalline multi-substituted mineral; consequently, attention researchers oriented towards substituted HA, glass (BG), glass-ceramic (BGC) exploit relevance foreign ions work, after description ablation film growth ceramic materials, reported mechanism deposition, evidencing peculiarities PLD. literature concerning PLD ion BG, BGC then reviewed performances coatings discussed. We concluded describing advantages, limitations, perspectives for biomedical applications.

Metallic glass thin films for potential biomedical applications.
We introduce metallic glass thin films (TiCuNi) as biocompatible materials for biomedical applications. TiCuNi metallic glass thin films were deposited on the Si substrate and their structural, surface, and mechanical properties were investigated. The fabricated films showed good biocompatibility upon exposure to muscle cells. Also, they exhibited an average roughness of <0.2 nm, high wear resi...
متن کاملCaO-P2O5 Glass-Hydroxyapatite Thin Films Obtained by Laser Ablation: Characterisation and In Vitro Bioactivity Evaluation
Hydroxyapatite (HA) coatings have been applied to improve adhesion of non-cemented implants to host bone. Plasma spraying is the most common technique leading to thick calcium phosphate films (>120μm). Pulse laser deposition (PLD), is a possible alternative method to obtain thin (<10 μm), well adherent hydroxyapatite (HA) films. Similarly to synthetic HA, biological apatites contain Ca, PO4 and...

High quality vanadium dioxide ~VO2! thin films have been successfully deposited by pulsed laser deposition without postannealing on ~0001! and ~101̄0! sapphire substrates. X-ray diffraction reveals that the films are highly oriented with ~010! planes parallel to the surface of the substrate. VO2 thin films on ~0001! and ~101̄0! substrates show semiconductor to metal transistions with electrical r...
متن کاملCharacteristics of high quality ZnO thin films deposited by pulsed laser deposition
Thin films of ZnO have been deposited on glass and silicon substrates by the pulsed laser deposition technique employing a KrF laser ~l5248 nm!. The influence of the deposition parameters, such as substrate temperature, oxygen pressure, and laser fluence on the properties of the grown films, has been studied. All the films grown over a rather wide range of deposition conditions were found to be...
